Integrate Nature Based Solutions

Kunde
Vesltandsforskning
The researchers in the IntegrateNbS project not only want to investigate how to realize the transformative potential of nature-based solutions (NbS), they also want to practice being, designing and leading transformative change throughout the three-year project. cCHANGE is guiding them in how to do this by testing a new way of engaging citizens in NbS processes in Norway, Sweden, Spain and Poland.

“This is the best project kick-off workshop I have ever attended” -Johanna Alkan Olsson, Lund University

The project initiators from Vestlandsforskning did not just want to research NbS processes, they wanted the researchers in the project to be transformative by using their inner capacity to change systems and cultural norms and generate visible results.

Project leader Irmelin Gram-Hansen is a leader who grows around other leaders, and she has assembled an extraordinary team of experienced, open-minded and dedicated researchers. Together, this team has the courage and ability to not only make a significant contribution to how NbS processes are implemented, but also how to transform the academic system from one where researchers are "objective" observers detached from processes and results to one where researchers have a stake in the results and the courage to be transformative researchers working for the well-being of people and nature.

The project participants come from: West Norway Research Center, Nordregio, Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Basque Country Center for Climate Change, Lund University, University of British Columbia, Sogndal Municipality, Minsk Mazowiecki City, Bilbao City, Vattenakademiet and the Ebro River Basin Authority.
